INDIANA EMERGENCY RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM provided by:

This program provides rental and utility assistance for up to 15 months total to those who have suffered a negative financial impact due to COVID-19 and are experiencing or at risk of experiencing housing instability due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Qualified applicants can receive help with:
-Past-due and future rent payments
-Utilities (electric, gas, water, and sewer)
-Home energy bills (fuel oil, wood, coal, pellets, and propane)
This program cannot provide assistance for:
-Disconnect and reconnect fees for utilities - but can pay for late fees
-Utilities that are part of the lease
-IERA is no longer covering internet or separately invoiced trash
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU APPLY?
1) Applicant receives 3 emails:
- email 1 : confirms an application has been submitted
- email 2 : confirms the threshold criteria has been met
- email 3 : states after application and documentation review that a household has been found to be eligible for a benefit
2) Landlords are contacted
3) Benefit amounts are determined
4) Payment occurs 2 or more times a week
